Forbidden Fiction: A Literary Speakeasy Experience

Step into the restricted section.

Join The Velvet Bookmark and Crafted & Cured for a free evening celebrating books that have been challenged, banned, or deemed too controversial for certain shelves.

Inspired by the secretive spirit of a Prohibition-era speakeasy, Forbidden Fiction is a casual literary pop-up where books, cocktails, conversation, and a little intrigue come together.

Browse a hand-selected collection of challenged and banned books, discover the stories behind their controversies, and explore the collection for hidden clues. This month, you'll even have a newspaper-style literary puzzle to solve as you search for a secret password that unlocks a special offer from The Velvet Bookmark.

Enjoy a drink from Crafted & Cured while you browse, and look for book-inspired drink pairings featuring the evening's selections.

And for those who like to dig a little deeper, be sure to explore The Vault, where you'll find additional books available for purchase from The Velvet…
